Christmas fishing

Since we won't be eating till 3 or so.I guess I'll go out after "lupper" and see if i can catch a few rainbow trout.

How'd the fishing go? where are you catching rainbow trout at?

eman 12-27-2014 12:58 AM

Running fever so didn't get out.
the parks commission stocked 3 ponds w/ rainbow trout for the winter.
sherwood brec park . Perkins road brec park and flannacher rd. brec park in zachary .

that's cool, do they survive and reproduce in the ponds or do they have to keep restocking them?

They will not reproduce and won't survive once the water temp rises in small water.
It's something easy to catch for kids mainly but the adults get into it as well!

they only put a couple a hundred lbs in each pond. they die when the water temps get back into the mid 70s .Usually fished out way before then.
Limit is 4 PP/PD but always some ahole that has to keep all they can catch.
Only time i get to fish a #12 black wooley booger on my 5 weight here LOL
