Anyone have any good grilled trout recipes? Looking for something a little different than dropping them in grease.

I have taken fillets and put on foil and grilled with lemon pepper basted with butter . I find better than grilled red. Nothin fancy but it was good. I put some holes in the foil so most excess drains off.

I find trout has more moisture than a red so watch you don't overcook thinking it needs more time .........

I usually take some fillets and lay out in foil then melt butter and BBQ sauce in microwave till melted then pour over fillets then close up foil and throw on Pitt till u hear it kinda boil, good stuff!! Also do that with catfish fillets too.

I belly/butterfly filet with the scales on then bake grill on low heat

I have kept them whole, gutted & scaled. Put some score marks down each side. Rub with oilve oil and season inside and out. Lay fish belly down (belly flaps open) on the on the pit. Baste with garlic butter until done. As someone else stated do not overcook because it will dry out. Just another cooking option to try.

Season filets well, lay in foil pan. Juice of fresh lemon, thinly sliced garlic, butter and olive oil drizzled over filets. I lay sliced bell pepper and onion over the fillets. On pit I place three or four strips of bacon directly on the grill on the side of the pan to add a good smoke flavor to the fish. Do not over cook.

Then you just throw out the fish and eat the bacon.:grinpimp:

Season trout filet with your favorite seasoning and then dredge / dust in flour.

Melt butter / olive oil mix in a black iron skillet and once melted and getting hot, fan fry your trout. Once golden brown, take fish out to rest.

Add another tsp of butter and add slivered almonds. Keep a close eye not to burn. If you burn, start over and clean the skillet.

Once you are close, plate the fish and squeeze lemon over the almonds while hot. It should steam and immediately pour over the fish. As much or as little as you like.

I did this with redfish on an earlier thread. Can't miss!

It's hard to find but i have been using avocado oil instead of olive oil when pan frying or searing. Smoke point close to 500 degrees. Do recipe close to this^^^ one but i use pecans instead of almonds
