GI pier night fishing

has anyone been to the pier nightfishing lately? Im going to make a trip during the week one night next week. I would think the crowds wont be too bad during the week..Anyhow, is it worth the trouble to haul bait bucket and buy some live shrimp?

I was at the pier last Friday night killing time. Got there around 9:30. Fishing was quite. Bridge was not pack. Everyone had there cast net catching small white trout and using them to soak the line for reds. One group of guys caught 2 bull reds. Good luck!
