Lowrance Elite 5 DSI settings

Looking for some tips or tricks to get the best visualization in 15 - 50 ft of water. I play around with the settings quite a bit... just looking for new settings to try out on the bend to image fish. I can find structure relatively easily and mark bait. Its determining scattered fish thats my problem.

Currently i run:

Ping 100%
Both Auto and Manual Sensitivity
800 Khz
Surface Clarity Medium - High
Contrast 60

Do you have better visualization in any background (white, purple, sepia)?

Should i develop a custom range of 15 to 50 ft... thus eliminating the water column from 0 to 15 ft?

Youtube will tell you some great setting thats how i set my hds then play with it. Turn you contrast all the way up and bring it down until you can clearly see the bottom and the same with the color.

I like the black/green. I feel like I can see that better at day and night .Mine stays on auto sensitivity also.

custom depth range will definitely improve clarity in that specific range. I do it regularly offshore

Thanks guys... I am going to fool with my transducer a bit to see if that helps any. I may just turn it back to default settings and work my way from there... maybe something i didnt notice is way off.
