Got on the water at around 3:30 pm. BassYakr decided to join in on the trip. Had made a plan for what we wanted to do and we did exactly that. Started looking for life as soon as we hit our first spot. If theres no bait, theres probably no fish. So after a few casts and a couple short minutes, mainly to calm our anxiety, we didnt waste any time. Wind picked up to probably 10-12mph then laid back down after about 15 minutes, not sure why.. but it made us go to exactly where we needed to be. Found bait and some lazy birds, started catching them in groups of 3-4. We lost more at the boat than we ended up with in the boat and of course the biggest one got away:spineyes:. Ended up with 2 limits by 6:30 in just a little time once we found the bait being chased. Seen several boats come and go right next to us,(including the 2 guys who ran full speed 50 yds from us then killed it and drifted their own prop wash for an hour) never seen them catch anything.... Pays to have patience. Caught most all of them on topwater and caught a few on plastics just to change it up.

30 trout

I see treble hoooks.... must be why you didnt catch a big one . maybe you should've prepped a day early and replaced them with a single hook:work:

BassYakR 07-03-2014 07:32 AM

haha... Id never take the time to do that Sheeet

BuckingFastard 07-03-2014 07:39 AM

we missed so many... watched them swim up and touch the bait over and over... not fact either. just swim up to it while close to the boat and touch it just to make it move. weird stuff

Should put some extra large trebles on there so you can just snag them that just wanna sniff it.

Gasper Master 07-03-2014 10:46 AM

Can you please explain to me what you mean by seeing bait. Does that mean you see bait flicking, mullet jumping, bait swimming by, fish busting on bait? Thanks.
