Fished all over trying to hide from the wind. Ended up with 1 red and 4 trout. Caught a 5 a 3 and a couple dinks with a few throwbacks. All on mirrodines.

Nice catch Bob.... That ice looks like it was frozen from the inside out.
You get a double high five.

I know. Talked to a guy today that went on guided trip to Dularge. Their crew caught 350 trout this morning. Said it was slick calm.

Wind was insane today out of Port Sulphur. I figured I would try the late afternoon and it was good but at the same times sucked. I quickly found a good size area that the birds were working and you could see the trout thrashing the topwater and was able to pull one trout and one gafftop before the wind blew me over the school and spooked them :(
Trying to figure out if I want to go back to PS tomorrow or go to Myrtle Grove and try a spot that has been pretty good this year to me.
What to do???

Big Lake is terrible Geographic location for high winds. I grew up fishing grand isle and never fought the wind half as much as I do out here. Good catch considering the conditions... Will the winds ever lay down and the shrimp move into the lake? Lots of people are saying this is the worst they've ever seen the lake. I couldn't imagine a summer full of trips where you catch 3 trout and one red.
