Rutherford 5/3

Hit Rutherford about 8 Saturday morning. First time to fish there so we just picked a spot and set up. WSW wind was stiff during the morning but still fishable. By noon the wind was down right brutal. Ended the trip with 4 nice bulls and a sea gull. All except the gull were caught on mullet. All in all its was a good day spent with Ace Archer and my family.
Had a friend drive down and fish with us and it just wasnt his day. We sent a bull home with him so he wasnt leaving empty handed. Already cleaned one of our three before I realized I hadnt taken a pic yet.

The poor gull. This dude comes cruising down the beach and runs into my sons line. The line wrapped around the end of his wing and he was stuck. We reeled him in and got him free. After a quick picture he was released with nothing hurt but his pride.

Great report, and nice big bull reds. I usually keep my unintentional wildlife interactions on the DL.

Believe it or not there are whack job PETA type pseudoscientists out there who are already trying to use these interactions to restrict recreational fishing.

So let the official record show that I've never caught a sea turtle, I've never shot a bald eagle, and my red snapper by catch is zero.

I did, however, shoot the last Dodo and use it for bait to catch the last Megalodon, which was released, but later died from deep hooking injuries for failure to use a circle hook.

Now that is funny bro.
To heck with PETA... That gull was harassing us and trying to destroy property. I already had the grill hot. That lil bastid is lucky I didnt have any creole seasoning with me.:rotfl:

Y'all still gona be down at the end of the month? We'll be back on the 31st if weather allows.

Duck it was awesome seeing you and your son again, Your whole family is all good people!

Anthony loved chasing your boy all over that beach! He has already asked if he can wrestle again.

That gull was crazy!

Was that your group set up by the cabins? We saw a group as we swung onto the beach for a minute. We stopped to check the water and saw a group with rods in sand spikes a block west of the entrance road.
