Maple Syrup Production
6 Attachment(s)
I wasn't sure where to post this so picked this one. I have 2 huge sugar maples on my front lawn so this year I decided to try my hand at maple syrup. My wife and neighbors are laughing their butts off at me as they never know what ole redneck Rob is going to do next. I got the last laugh on this one as got 32-34 quarts of sap in 3 days which gave me 3/4 of a quart of syrup which I will share even though they all thought I was crazy  Well here are some pics I thought you might enjoy (notice all the snow we still have)....:grinpimp:
Cheers and stay safe everyone

32-34 quarts of sap was boiled for 8 1/2 hours leaving maple syrup. The sap is 95% water and the ratio from sap to syrup is 40-1. 40 gallons of sap produces 1 quart of syrup. It is a long process but it is so much better than store bought syrup.....yummy
