farmers almanac - old wives tale or true accurate guide?

what makes the farmers almanac so trusted as the end all be all book to say when to plant things or when go fishing right down to the exact day?

bob and his viper cant even get tomorrows forcast right so how can a book printed once a year be so accurate or is it just dumb luck if followed you will be have good results

Grandpa usta say ya plant after the pecan trees start showing leaves. He also said if ya notice the almanacs dates are always after that happens. One way to not be early is to be late.:D

In my experience, being late is ok, and you will be picking stuff about the same time or maybe a week later than if you planted 2 or 3 weeks earlier.

ok, so if you don't know when to plant, the almanacs are just telling you to plant on dates late enough so you'll be on the safe side and that's why its seen by many as being so accurate and follow it strictly?
