seatow or boatus?

Who has them and which one do you recommend?

Goooh 03-22-2014 09:25 PM

I have sea tow through my insurance, never had to use them.

I would think salty cajun would pick you up just as quick!

Seatow

BoatUS is a waste

haoward 03-22-2014 09:57 PM

Will seatow work in Fourchon?

Ratdog 03-23-2014 02:11 AM

Seatow is all over
Call and ask where they have boats stationed at
I believe grand isle has a boat stationed there

bayouchub 03-23-2014 10:41 AM

Jadams 03-23-2014 11:08 AM

Boat us has boats everywhere they pay guides to add tow endorsements to there licenses and give us a break on commercial ins

PUREBAY2200 03-23-2014 01:40 PM

I gives each spot u fish will have its own service positive and negatives.
Best to call both places and get the info for the areas you plan to fish
And post up the results of your search.

Okay just got off the phone with both compay.

Sea tow does have a boat in Grand isle and will not tow anything east of fouchon area.

BoatUS does not have anything down there but will find someone if the boat would to break down.

Sounds like a cell phone but do they have a coverage map.

For Terrebone Parish just call the Sheriff's Department (Water Patrol).

I think all of them stop insurance 20-25 miles offshore. Of course you would probably have trouble calling them beyond that point anyway unless you could get someone on vhf. There was a BoatUS boat parked in Fourchon Marina last summer but never saw anyone on it.
