Flounder Bite

I plan on hitting the calcasieu area this Fri/Sat for some specs, reds & flounder. Pretty much know where the red bite is at this time but was wondering where the flounder are hold up in this area? Have a boat and will travel :). Thanks!

Caught a few in the salt ditch yesterday. Last year around this time started banging them in the LNG, but water is filthy in there right now. Good luck

Water clarity isn't really gonna matter as much for flounder as it would for specks, I caught 2 flounder in prien on monday

Thanks guys, appreciate the advice!

Actually, water clarity doesn't even really matter for specks either. Look for fish sign and if it's in cloudy water they'll be there... just use darker or louder lures. Those fish eat nearly silent almost invisible forage every day in all water conditions.

For flouder, you can catch them from the pass to the marsh right now... as BassYakr said, they are spread out. the pass or any bayou into the marsh should hold a few on the shelf at the top or the bottom edge... if you don't target them and fish the bottom at what ever depth, you may not catch them.

have fun
