Truck Audio

Want to get an audio system installed in my new truck. Not looking for a big bad system, just something with a little extra punch and good clarity. I am thinking about (1) 10" sub under the back seat, and replacing the factory speakers in the doors (Chevy Z71 crew cab, LT so factory speakers are not great). I have a quote from Baileys with pioneer door speakers and a JL 8" sub. The pioneer speakers were not set up on the display so i didnt get a chance to hear them. The other quote I have is from Jays and it is for a 10" RF sub with (4) Memphis door speakers. That system sounded decent but not quite the clarity I was looking for. Any suggestions, and can anyone recommend an audio place to do the install??

I have always worked with Baileys...... They do great work.... and you cannot go wrong with JL and Pioneer!

I always used infinity kappa door speakers and JL subs. Used almost all of em and like that setup the best. I buy all my stuff from this company....http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/

I have one 12" JL Sub with Kenwoods in the doors and has a great sound. No boom it's like listening to music live.

That's the sound I am looking for.... Nate would u say that the pioneers are twice as good as the Memphis?? Reason I ask is because the Pioneer/JL system is double the cost!!

I second this. Clean and crisp from top to bottom.

But, JL has made some great 2 and 3 way speakers over the years. They will have my full system if I do a vehicle, and when I do my boat.

memphis was the **** back in the 80's haha. JL clarity is unbeatable. infinity cappa also has an extremely crisp sound with their mids. You get what you pay for. that statement is 99% true.... even with a hooker.

I have a JL 8" sub under the back seat and replaced the factor door speakers with JLs….also have a Kenwood amp running it all in my F150…sounds great and rarely do I have a volume up high, but when I do, the clarity never goes away, even a max volume, windows down driving to Venice..
