The state Highway department announced they were laying off 74% of the workforce March 1st......... apparently somone invented a shovel that could hold itself up.
In defense of the Highway Depatment, that looks like subcontractors, probably for an underground utility company. |
Alco builders from Iowa.

I saw the same guys by Ryan St.

State = hands in pocket
|
Some of Obama's shovel ready jobs.

A lot of those people standing around are probably city or state inspectors though

Yes and yes and maybe no. Was on a drill site today, 240' bore pulling I think 10" pipe,under a school. They were 3' under and 3'horiz from the lines that were "marked" for TV,Internet etc.. that were marked by the cable company.Boom at 1 o clock the cable people showed up, the Boardwalk,Bass Pro And Margaritaville casino and 2 schools including my wifes,was done.. when they were cutting back with the reamer,they were chewin up major fiber line, it was crazy,what I'm trying to say is it's not always what you see, job sites get shut down for major F@@k'ups. and sometimes simple crap, my customer was all good but everything was shut down the rest of the day. I'm not so good with words but sometimes when you you see guys standing around,they might be waiting on some city inspecter or some crap,or there's probably a guy with a pick shovel in the pit-that you cant see-that's changing drill heads,reamers,or digging around who knows what..just my 2 cents here...Another 2 Cents,these guys work their asses off, OK I'm done.. |

Ok subcontractors. They are working either for the state or the city. Either way looks like a waste of manpower if u ask me. Still our tax dollars either way u slice the pie!
