Do they sell those little bundles of wood like they do up here? Its like a dollar a stick when they sell it that way. People here in town actually buy that crap up here. Maybe I need to go into the albertsons firewood business.lol

It's a little better than that, 2 bundles for $8, prolly comes out to .50 a stick.

I buy mine in the summer, truck load for like $75

I usually cut and split my own. My brother has been borrowing my spliter lately. He brought me a trailor load of hickory blocks as payment. Thats for the bbq pit though. I have a few big oaks in my yard I want to cut this summer. Need to get a new chain for my big saw first. Those are gona be heat for next winter. Our only heat source is wood. That soapstone wood stove keeps the place toasty though. :)

75 bucks a truckload or rick is a good price. It runs 85-100 bucks up here on average. Sometimes you can get cheaper. I try to cut all of my own wood. Doesnt always happen though.

Anyone else see the time is off?? As for as post times go?...

The price I posted is usually what Albertson's bundles are, I find you get more for the price than anywhere else.

Back when I was a farmer in Ohio, I used to sell a bit of firewood on the side. I'd make deliveries into the better Cleveland neighborhoods for something like $150 seasoned, delivered, and stacked for 1/4 cord of quality hardwoods. I was young and strong back then. We'd heat our own home each winter with about 7 cords of wood from the seconds of producing marketable firewood.

7 cords? Thats a bunch of wood. We use 1 1/2 - 2 cords a winter. Wood is our only heat source. That soapstone stove is very efficient.
