Atchafalaya traffic update

Is the atchafalaya bridge open to traffic?

Dotd says nothing about it being closed last time I checked

Montauk17 01-24-2014 03:34 PM

Dads stuck on the east side of the bridge in Krotz Springs for 2 hours. According to the truck drivers there's a wreck on the bridge.

I'm hoping they cancel the event. I was tryin to stay optimistic but it's just not in the cards today.

Yeah, I'm supposed to be en route to St. Francisville for a deer hunt right now. I think this is all a little ridiculous.

I just got back from New Orleans.... Took me almost 8 hours..... It was brutal.

If I didn't have a meeting in the morning I would have stayed another night.

Got to Sorrento and Interstate was closed. And radio said it was closed through BR.

Tried coming up old 90 and getting on. I-49 and I-10....was closed too.

Finally got on I-10 around Scott. Most over passes they would make you exit and get back on.

25 to 30 mph the rest of the way.

I just poured some Bourbon on the rocks.

If you have to travel, please be careful.

I left Indian bayou at 11am and I'm sitting on 190 in port Allen 4 hours later. Been to krotz springs, simsport, morganza, st Francisville, false river and now here. And looks like they've closed the bridge again or something. We aren't moving

Dad just got in an accident. Idiot in front of him lost control, hit an eighteen wheeler, then hit dad. Somewhere on 190 westbound.

He did say there was two road graders and a front end loader scraping ice of the eastbound lane of 190 on the spillway bridge.
