Feeling a Bit Nastalgic
Went to academy today and was stocking up on some curly tail grubs for the tackle box. Not the high $ scented stuff just some plain ole grubs. When I got huuome and started messin with em it reminded me of my teenage years bass fishing with my grandpa and uncle. That was when a salted berkley worm was the new thing. We would go to our local sporting goods store (security sports) and they had a counter with boxes of bulk worms. 6 and 8 inch curl tail worms. A nickle apiece. They smelled like good ole rubber worms and we boated a crap load of bass with them.

my dad would use the grape and blackberry scented plastic worms. i think the first bass i ever caught was on the grape. i always wanted to take a bite of one and see what it tasted like. lol

Security Sporting Goods used to be the Cabelas/BassPro of central La but not so much anymore. Their store downtown was as good as any at the time which was 36 yrs ago for me.
