Academy X2O reel problem
 

At the end of last year my wife got one of the Academy X2O baitcast reels that were on sale. She's only used it maybe 3 times and when I used it the other day, it would not reel in with any pressure on the line. I messed with the drag and the brake to see if that was the problem. Ranging from if it was hung up or had a small bream hooked it would reel in. Once the pressure was off of the line it would work fine. If I were to bring it back to Academy without the receipt, y'all think they would replace it or I'm SOL?

I exchanged one yesterday with no receipt. Just showed them the issue and they said go get a new one. Easy as that

Thanks for the reply. I brought it in this afternoon and got a store credit for the retail value which was $50.00. The best part was I bought it when it was on sale for $24.99!! Gave the card to the old lady and told her to find one. She came back with an Abu Garcia Revo S....... Said she thought the white was pretty. :shaking:

Academy will pretty much take ANYTHING back. Brought back a broken wooden bat in high school years ago...Traded for a new one..

That's what I'm talkin bout!
