Afternoon delight part du(lac) 7/21
Details and pics tomorrow. Waited out the wind and rain for nearly 24 hours on Bayou DuLarge at a buddy's camp. We all went our separate ways after breaking camp and putting the boat up, but I noticed the unmistakeable lessening breeze as it approached 4:00. Made a hard right and made it happen
Shoved off at 4:08, worked two reefs, didn't keep 12s, some topwater. 11 in the box, good times. |

So I spent some time at a buddy's camp, where it blew and rained to the tune of two reds, a lot of directv and good cooking - crab stew NEVER a bad idea - in 24 hours.
The southwest wind pushed a lot of tide in and it had to go somewhere, right? When it fell, it fell hard. Water was milky, but fishable. Started at the reef I didn't hit Friday and it was every cast on plastics for a bit but almost all dinks except for one good one ona spook. Made a move to the mother lode spot Friday and they were positioned 200 yards from then, directly in the screaming current and scattered. Much better fish though. Those moved on and fished the up current side for a few. For the most part they just wanted to slap the spook, but a quick cast with the deadly Dudley bay chovey often caught them. A wonderful afternoon and awesome sunset on the way back. Attachment 53547 Attachment 53548 |
