6/17 Grand Isle Report

My two boys and I fished the bay today and had a nice morning. We would have had full limits but every fish was a fight with the dolphins.
All fish were caught on gulp mullet under a cork except for a few that I caught on a pink skitterwalk. The water along the beach is dirty right now. We only caught 15 trout yesterday on the beach. We went by there today and made a few cast but I couldn't see my trolling motor in the water so I knew it wouldn't be good. A good day on the water with my two sons topped off with burgers on the water from Sand Dollar. Life is good.Attachment 51840 |
Beach water was dirty all weekend even through it was slick ... I'm thinking shrimp boats dragging had it muddy... Now fourchon beach looked beautiful.. Bright green

Nice job putting those boys on some fish and making memories
|
What campground did you end up at Casey?
|
Good job casey
|
Bridge side had an opening at the last minute so we stayed there and left our 5th wheel behind.
|
Grand Isle is a awesome place. If the beach is dirty around GI go west. Either Elmer's Island or Fourchon. If I get as far as Fourchon and its still dirty I go through Fourchon into the bay and fish inside. Have fun.

Nice trip Bossman

Nothing like fishing with your kids.
I don't need to remind you how fast they grow up! Glad you guys are having fun and the trip was probably easier not having to pull the 5th wheel over. |
