If you can find some mullet to cut up beat the banks, fresh shrimp will always work but mullet = less trash fish.

They had huge schools of mullet when I went saturday. From the mouth of shark bayou all the way to blue point.

Heard some people smashed reds near shark bayou over the weekend. mainly small ones.

I concur the water on the west side looks better. Caught a few reds and flounders at the island last week. Went this weekend, water was dirty and fresh toward the island. I had better luck for reds in West side (Week Bay) on Sunday...

I caught a pickle speck Saturday on the east VB bank midway between mud and blue point - salinity was ZERO and water looked like bourbon when i poured some on the white boat deck... I was surprised.

The river is way to high to be in that area unless you run east of the river.

Im sure there is a few trout in there that did not go to the gulf from last fall but no big numbers....tasted the water over the weekend and it was 100% fresh and muddy.
