The fraternities did these in college.... more of a joke than anything. helped raise money by dressing a bunch of ugly dudes up in drag. Just another excuse for them to be the center of attention, get hammered, and fullfill their fantasy of dressing like a woman lmao... but i am sure goldenrod is doing this to raise money for something??? atleast I HOPE.

gotcha, ok was kind of curious, not sure that i wanted to know the answer though, surely for a good cause you have to do what ever it takes, and for the record, i was pulling your chain goldenrod(about the "gay pagent")

It is a fundraiser for the Miles Perret Cancer center in Lafayette. I have to dress up and collect money during the pageant. The man that collects the most money is crowned queen. We have been to this in the past, and the guys who participate get to drink for free!! And they have always been fd up, and put on a damn funny show.....BY the way it is held in Crowley on the 15th of June and tickets are 15$.

That is definitely a GREAT Cause!
Local Cherity that goes above and beyond for thier patients.

While my mom was recovering they picked her and 5 other cancer patients up in a limo in lafayette and brought them to Cyp. point to a camp that someone had donated for the weekend.

Cooked for them, did group therapy stuff, and gave them loads of little door prizes. At the end of the weekend they loaded them back up in a limo and brought them home.

She talked about that trip for weeks, which was wayyy better than talking about the usualy (treatment and surgeries).

Can anyone buy a ticket?
Where can we purchase them?

goldenrod 05-02-2013 10:41 AM

Yes anyone can buy tickets, I have some at my office.
