Changing the title on a boat

What do i need to do to have a title on a boat changed to my name? My wife's grandpa gave me his mudboat because e is moving to Florida. He finally found the title yesterday and gave it to me after he signed the back. My problem is that he is leaving Wednesday, so do I need to get it all done before he leaves, or do I not need him anymore?

Both parties have to be present and one witness to get the.bill of sale notarized. Most banks have a notary and if you have an account with the bank it should be free.

Crap!! Guess I'm going to have to take tomorrow off to get it all taken care of before the old man leaves cause I don't think he'll drive in from Key Largo to sign a paper once he's there!
