Thinking of opening a lawn care business. What's the going rate now days. A cut weed eat edge pull weeds etc. just curious where to start and what y'all would pay

start off in trailer parks... all i know is they used to rape me for 40$ if the yard wasnt cut on a certain day... highway roberry for 30 min of push mowing. only happened once though.

commercial is where its at. your keeping your current job?

My sure u get insurance and a license.

You'll need 1million insurance policy to do most commercial jobs an you'll need to get an occupational license.

There's gonna be a lot of trial and error getting started, you will over bid and under bid a lot of jobs till you find out what your area can support. I have been cutting grass all my life and have ran my business for 12yrs now and still make bidding mistakes.
When I was running my business full time I have seen jobs for residential customers range from $50-75 an be and commercial I stayed around $100+ an hr due to tax. There is a lot of money to be made doing this work depending on how much time and effort you put into pushing your business......
what kind of equipment do you have and what do you plan to add?

I carried insurance when I was running full time but never had any license.... they are harder on you about license around big cities

Problem without having a license nowadays is that there are a lot of lawn care businesses and if you get the bid on a big job and another outfit finds out you are not licensed they may turn you in.

My dad does lawncare. Hes been doing it about 10-11 years and it is alot of trial and error. Starting off ypu will overbid and underbid. The only downfall is there are so many people who do it. The main thing is build a good relationship and people will stick with you. He has customers 9-10 years old and some people have came and underbid him but do to his relationship people stick with him. I will say he goes out of.his way alot though. He does landscaping but hes a jack of all trades. He'll help with anything he can.

Customer loyalty is getting more and more scarce these days. Seems like a lot of people are only concerned about who is the cheapest now days. Dont even stop to compare apples to apples,until they get screwed.
