castaway

Anyone know if anywherein B.R. sells the Deadly Dudley series castaway rods. I have one purchased in N.O. that i broke 2 " off the tip setting the hook on a dink trout last sat. Don't really want to have drive to N.O. to exchange it.

Academy carries Castaway but, don't expect them to warranty broken ones. They changed their return policy 2 years ago per the manger in Lafayette and Lake Charles (broke 4). Now you have to send them back to Castaway along with $25, along with a shipping box.:pissed: I have bought my last Castaway rod, it is not worth the effort to get a $100 rod fixed when it will cost atleast $50 to send it back. Best bet would probably be to put another tip since you only broke 2".

Eman, If you can't exchange it there's a guy in Watson that builds rods & repairs. Very Good. Give him a shout, I buy all my rods from him & he has done several repairs, not bad on the price. Shoot me a PM if anyone is interested.

I bought an All Star Rod from Academy and had the same issue. I had to go to All Star, Academy wouldn't do any kind of warranty on the rod.
I had to pay shipping to and from All Star and a $25 fee to cover the cost of repairing the rod. Not my kinda warranty.
It broke on the first day I used it.

I don't buy allstar anymore...everyone I owned broke...while casting...poo
