can I ask some advice, as you seem to do a lot of topwater. When I fish topwater, I walk it non stop, do you do that, or vary retrieves? like work it a while, then stop, then go again? Anyone?

I think the reason I don't catch too much on top water is because I don't fish it enough, I like bottom fishing!

So false.......
Big Sand Eel will catch a big trout
Stanley Wedge Tail Mullet 1/16oz lead head will burn em up to

I dont fish nearly as much as some people on here but my favoritre is top water. Ive noticed a lot of times i get some good blow ups when i walk it for a while then stop and they nail it when it stops.

inchspinner 08-19-2012 08:03 PM

Im not saying fish dont eat jigs, the lake record was on an eel gloe/chart, i choose to throw tops 7/8 of the time...its a rush for me....like i said i dont care about NUMBERS.....a 8lb top trout is better than 30 dinks....just my opinion some want numbers, thats fine, but i want quality now a box full of 3s is awsome to me a box full of 12"ers well if its a non big trout day ill take it, id rather catch on top

I agree there. topwater bite is so much cooler. I've caught big trout every way, and on every thing, luck is luck on what hit's that lure. Hands down the most exciting strike is on topwater. as long as the freezer has fish in it, I go for the exciting bite. Thanks for the tip spinner!
