X2. Ive always herd nothing but good things about pack and paddle. I went there to buy some baits one time and the service was top notch.

academy has a heritage sit on top for $450 set up to fish in. and its not a bad kayak either. I went to Massey's in towncenter in baton rouge. I got a Native Redfish 12ft spent $600.

Check lafayettekayakfishing.com and bckfc.org for the classifieds.

I'm gonna check out the inventory at academy this weekend. I hope I find something I like

The only kayak from academy I would go for would be the Perception Pescador 12'. If you are willing to travel between houston and BR or NO, you might try craigslist and look around for a couple of weeks. Use searchtempest.com for the craigslist searches.
