Looking for Flatties in Prien

I am planning on going for the 4th at Prien hoping to find some flounder with my son.

I have had a lot of luck at the sound end of the lake in the fall but never caught any in Prien.

Low tide around 10AM and high tide around 2 PM

Any advice on bait and location will be appreciated.

Gulp, on the bottom, dragged slowly.
The only ones I seen this year so far are pretty small.

Gulp swimming mullets white or chart. Fish the drop offs deeper for the doormats usually 10-15 ft does it for me.

I prefer the gulp shrimp over swimming mullet. The croakers are so bad they eat the tails off the swimming mullets just about every cast and them things are too expensive to go through that many. The shrimp are a little tougher but they still bite them in half too. Just hang on the drop off and you'll catch flounders.

Swimming mullet twists your line up too, especially braid.

That sure is a nice mess of flounder sir! Usually those chartreuse gulp mullet and 3" gulp shrimp work quite nicely.

Don't be afraid to bring it back old school on the sharptail salt grubs either. Me and a buddy were flat fishin the other day, he had a grub and I had a gulp shrimp. He started catchin em pretty regular and I wasn't gettin a bite. After his 4th one, I put a grub on my leadhead and went 3 for 3 next 3 casts. It all depends on what they want that day.

That was a fluke. Gulp will outfish a stinger grub 9 times out of 10. Unless of course said grub is tipped. :)
