Interesting news heard through the grapevine
 

Cormie's Grocery has been bought out by Brookshire Brothers Grocery Store. They plan on opening 20 Cormie's across the state, including the one in Lake Charles.

The one in Lake Chuck is looking good won't be long..

I think the son and his wife have been fighting his dad over this issue.....and from what I read on Facebook the DAD just wanted the money..and Did not want to give it back to his son and wife

Could be the son never paid his dad any of the lease he owed and the dad took out a lot of his retirement to pay his son's debts to keep the store open.

Dont matter who did what now I dont guess.

Wont be the same either

Family ran listens to and shapes to the community. Corporate could give a shat! Probably bye bye to no ethanol.
That fire was the worst thing that ever happened to the corner of big lake rd and country club.

Wonder if he sold off all his recipes?

And they are Conoco's largest independent gasoline retailer. It should remain ethanol free.

The "Dad" lived in that store, always working...

Not sure if son is working but dad was hired by Brookshire and will be around store. Dad will own store and lease to Brookshire.
