Destin, Fl

It seems like several of ya'll go to Destin on vacation so what's some things ya'll like to do there and places ya'll go eat? I will have my wife, 2yr old, in-laws and outlaws so I need family ideas along with somethin for me and the wife. I found a restaurant called Destin Lighthouse and place to workaround called Harborwalk... thanks for feed back, Jason

Rent a pontoon boat and take the whole crew to the inside sand bar for the day. Get one with a roof and slide..tons of fun for everyone. Take a day and go to Sand Destin on the bay side..plenty of shops, marina and good eatin' spots. In ol destin is AJs.........take your wife at night. Try a head boat with the crew and go catch some snapper for supper that night.....

San Destin is really nice. They have a nice outlet mall for the wife, and across the street from the San Destin Hilton on the sound side is a pretty cool little village. It has a bunch of shops and some pretty good restaurants. Last year they were having a chipping contest paying out $1,000 if you could chip it in at 30 or so feet with a wiffle(sp?) ball. I was about 1' off. Guy after me was inches!! Also, you have to go parasailing.

There is a restaurant called Louisiana Lagniappe that is delicious.

Bay town warf is by far the best place too go for drinks, food and fun... It's a mini bourbon street with out all the crazies and dirtiness... It's family friendly with games for kids and live bands... I would for sure go by there one night with the family....

It has many restaurants and lil bars in it... Rock walls, kids face painting, kids crafts, new Orleans daqs, etc etc,

What's the boats cost and is there a lot of shells for kids to find on the sand bar?

Look for a place called crab island and rent a pontoon there. It's a fun place to spend the day

Is the fishing from beach worth trying and would a regular fishing rod and e7 hold up?

No you can get there by car, its some type of state park with shower facilities and what not. Its on the Bay Side, it's a beach with no waves and clear water. Its about a foot deep for 100 yards, we went pretty far out and only got waste deep. They have folks out there kite surfing and stuff, its pretty cool.

Really goos if you have kids who don't like the waves knocking them down on the beach.

Sounds cool, is that the place you see on the left just as you go up the bridge going into Destin from ocalusa island? I know 3yrs ago we would see a lot of people and boats in there
