Weber grills?

Looking at a 22.5"... my old smokey finally rusted out. How is the durability? How good does it retain its heat?

Best grill for the money IMO.......you can buy many accessories as well.

My dad has a Weber grill that he bought in 96. He has had to replace the burners once and that's it. It is by far the best gas grill I have ever cooked on.

simplepeddler 06-06-2012 07:31 PM

I have country style ribs on my 14 in table top weber right now at toledo bend state park. I use to have the 14 in smokey. went thru them every few yrs. been having the weber for 8 yrs and counting. Only problem is not as much lid height as a smokey. PS damn fish aren't cooperating been dodging storms and high winds. Good news the winds layed down and the green light is itching to get drowned.

Get another smokey

Weber is a good choice. I can't remember how old mine is, at least 10 years and the only thing I changed were the grills. It has chips in the porcelain here and there from "other people" not being careful with my cover, but they aren't even rusted through. Oh, and i made new wooden handles when I needed to, I see they come with plastic/synthetic handles now. Mine's charcoal. I have another gas grill for that emergency BBQ urge, but I'll probably always have a Weber for the backyard for serious grillin. Now, having said that, if you want a grill to bring around to camping/parks/picnics, etc, then go with the Smokey, it's a lot easier to drag around and also good value. And Smokey makes an awesome smoker, that if you keep it in dry storage also lasts a long time.

My uncle gave me his 10 years ago, it is still on the back patio, in the rain. I use it often.

X2 I have both and the Smokey will provide a stronger smoked taste.

Get another Smokey, the Webers are nice, but IMO, the food from the Smokey has more flavor.

Weber does make an awesome gas grill
