Grand Isle

Guy's, I wanted to take my 2 girls out fishing and crabing in V-Bay tomorrow as it is there last day of school today. However one wants to go to the beach and the other wants to go fishing. So I thought Grand Isle would be the place to go. My issue is that i have only been to that area to catch a boat offshore and do not know where to go with the exception of the state park. Anyone know where i could go to possibly get one fishing and the other doing her beach thing? Would the state park be a good choice?

Yup state park would work, but Elmers island is even better IMO.

Either would work. You can drive on the beach at Elmer's. State Park has showers and restroom facilities.

thanks for the help. I'll post a report when we return.

State park would be a good choice, try Elmer's if nothing is biting at park.

Do not have any glass containers on elmers!! That means NONE!!! Not in your chest(ie: mayo jar for your sandwichs) or in your truck.......you WILL reciece a ticket

You may want to try the beach just across from the water tower. I have always done good there

Little of both. Having a hard time getting on a bite. They're hitting the marsh also.

They hit the marsh off LA. 1 and got on a load of reds. Several broke em off. 1 shy of a 2 man limit. Got a few trout (specks and whites) in the surf and bay and a couple flounder. Live shrimp was the ticket. Also several trout on Gulp shrimp.

It was a rough one out there yestarday. Managed only 1 speck. After about 10 am drove back to the entrance of the beach where it had the little lagon so that the kids could play where it was calm. Did see about 1 - 2 doz of small softshell crabs sittg on the waters edge. Never seen that before. Next time i will drag the boat and camper out there and stay a few days.
