I had one installed by Master Marine in Lafayette a few years ago. 40 HP Johnson on a 15 foot flat boat, but was not a tiller handle. Very sturdy and worked very well. The switch was mounted on the console and the solenoid was neatly installed under the engine cowling. Should have done it years before. I have since sold the boat. Think it was around $700 installed. Might have been a little more.

I'd be interested in the RAM that should be on there now. Mine is shot!

You will need the bigger cmc, not the pt35. I had my mega on a pt35 and it wasn't beefy enough to handle the mega so it surely wouldn't handle a merc 40. I have factory trim on my 03 merc 40
