They look like some volkswagons swimming in the water, that is one the best videos I've ever seen of fish feeding so close to the boat.

DUCKGOGETTER 05-11-2012 06:25 AM

That is sweet!!!!!

Dink 05-11-2012 06:43 AM

What's the fine for catching one??

At the end, did that say pier punks apparel!!!????? Damn! Just a few years ago, that was the little kids that would clean your fish at Bridgeside!!! Guess they've grown up a little?

Top Dawg 05-11-2012 06:56 AM

Put a hook in one!!!!! That's awesome!

swamp snorkler 05-11-2012 07:00 AM

Dink I thought I read on another report where he said they hooked 3 but didnt land any, I cant find it again so I'm not going to trust my memory on this one.

You can catch all you want you just can't stick a gaff in em. Unless they are in season of course. Josh got a 600+ pounder to the boat this year but had to release it cause the season was closed.

calcutta37 05-11-2012 07:51 AM

when is the season???

Just looked it up can't keep em at all due to the GOM is a spawning ground for BFT

From my understanding , it is not uncommon for giant bft to die during an elongated fight due to angler bit having adaquate gear. That usually a 800+ lb bft is hooked accidentally while fishing for yft so basically you are putting so much stress on the fish they die. In the case of death ( now this is strictly what I've been told) you are supposed to call the fish in to authorities and 1 / year can be kept like that. Not 100% sure though

Top Dawg 05-11-2012 08:35 AM

Put em under the boards in my aluminum boat and hide em!

donniej 05-11-2012 08:41 AM

Thats on my bucket list.

cmac23 05-11-2012 09:58 AM

I don't see it.......I don't think they'd trust the angler enough to OK it???
