Not a happy camper

Went to delacroix this morning with my buddy to scout out his duck lease he just got into. For him it was scouting, for me it was a great chance to go see what the new boat could do in some mud. Well we had a great day riding and got muddy for sure.

Of course all good things must come to an end. On the way home, stop at a red light and BAM!!! some meth head chick plows into the back of me. Bent my frame on my gatortail, cracked a weld on my transom, and almost sheared off my winch bracket on the trailer(it tore the metal about 3/4 the way through it). thats all I noticed at the time. could be more wrong, idk.
And to top off that delight, She has no license, no insurance, and the tags she had on the truck were not the tags for the truck. needless to say after one month and a day, the boat is back at gatortrax for who knows how long.
Not a very happy camper:pissed:

fishinpox 04-28-2012 08:44 PM

Dude that sucks!

2ndamendment 04-28-2012 08:45 PM

At least you were not hurt. A person knownly driving with no license, insurance and faulty tags should have to spend time behind bars.

ScubaLatt 04-28-2012 08:45 PM

Choot 'em! (the driver that is)

youu_whoo_whoo 04-28-2012 08:47 PM

well I was thinking that the insurance company would make it right and might get a lil extra. well I was not happy at all when i found out she had no insurance. so now its on me and my insurance to fix my stuff. and I'd sue them but whats that gonna get me? ya cant get blood from a turnip

Hydro 04-28-2012 09:37 PM

Man, sorry to hear that...

Hydro

jchief 04-28-2012 09:54 PM

dat sucks.

Can't get blood, but get the turnip. Have a judgement in case they do have some money. Hell, they may hit the lottery some day.

buoy37 04-28-2012 09:56 PM

Damn, I hate to hear that.

outcast 04-28-2012 09:59 PM

That sucks bro! People like that should thrown under the jail. I hope everything works out for you

jlsch1 04-28-2012 10:03 PM

What pisses me off about uninsured motorist is the state does not tow them the first time with no proof of insurance. Sucks, someone hit me and I had uninsured motorist which paid for it. Person hit me nothing happened and still is driving around. I guess our lawmakers feel driving a right not a privilege.

I feel your pain man.

Pm me, wife works in insurance and gave me some info that may benefit to some extent!

Dink 04-28-2012 10:38 PM

Get the judgement!! If they file taxes and have money coming, it'll go to you

LPfishnTIM 04-28-2012 11:24 PM

dang that does suck, hope everything gets fixed and you can get back on the water.

gasdad 04-29-2012 05:40 AM

What a bad deal

I would consider speaking to an attorney anyway. If you sue her and she would by some chance get a JOB at some time ,they could garnish her wages in the future. Just not right she gets off with no slap on the wrist even. What's to prevent her from doing this time and time again. Good luck

Slidellkid 04-29-2012 09:01 AM

I'd still sue her azz. I'd get a judgment and once she got her next tax refund check I garnish that bad boy. It can be done and though she probably would not change her ways it would serve her right.

I ended up suing a deadbeat tenant once eventually got all my money. It was sweet justice.

Sorry to hear about your accident. That sucks.
