The question I have is where is the location of the station and how deep are these samples being taken. Saltwater is heavier than fresh....
That is kind of a false reading because its reading but upper water levels ..... The channel has plenty of saltwater and the charts are reading on the top flow
Lots of fresh coming down the channel but keeps saltwater pushed up in lake or even pinned in Black lake... I would not use these charts as church until all is back settled down |
W,
When you say upper water levels do you mean the top of the water column near the surface? Do you think the saltwater has been pushed near the bottom? What are my chances in West Cove on Sunday morning? Or, would there be a much better place to try....I want to take the kids for some reds or whatever will bite. |

It was salty every where i went..... Down south
The lake is plenty of salty for trout..... Maybe way up north it might be a little low but reds will be there..... West Cove would have to dry up not to hold salty waters....you have at least two high tides in 24hours each day....
You want to catch reds go to jetties ......should be real easy |

Good info B and W
Saltwater must be missing in lake p also , didn't catch a damn thing today
I just have a 15 foot flat right now. Don't want to take the kids to the jetties in that with all the ship traffic. I may hit west cove.
put in at the nature trail and go right into west cove. If the tide is falling, hit the cuts in the sw corner of the lake or try West Pass.

wow - this is time for freshwater fishing some sacalait/bream/bass for a while..
Since I'm not fishing the next week or so due to freshwater tornaments I'll give yall a rare report. Believe it or not the trout are in the lake busting shrimp the last 2 days. Water is muddy but lots of limits are being caught, just gotta know what to look for.(hint lair birds)
