Holy **** that was rough!

Rode out to the islands from cocodrie this morning. Slick seas when we left , fished for a few hours and in the blink of an eye the absolute worst conditions I've ever been in on a bay boat! True 5-6' seas not the "dude my boat runs 99mph in 3' chop seas" but real 5 fters. Took more than I can count over the bow , was in ankle+ deep water for the hour it took us to make it in from 7-8 miles Offshore . Not bragging but very thankful! Some guys in a 18' aluminum boat left 5 min before us but they were headed toward Dularge n we were headed toward coco, I hope tgey made it in ok. Definitely scary being in between waves n only seeing a wall of water crashing over the bow ... Oh yeah BTW we had 3-4 really nice trout

Yes but very few it was an exploratory trip to see if any big spring trout moved out there yet. But the ones we did catch were in the 2-5 lb range

Hopedale Hustler 03-09-2012 02:54 PM
