Random act of kindness

Jamie and I decided since things have been on the up and up with Wyatt that it was time to paint the nursery. This morning I called my buddy who is a painter and asked him to call Sherwin Williams and get me a gallon of paint with his discount. After agreeing and even saying he would pay for it I head to the store. I walk in and the man behind the counter asked how the baby was doing and when he was coming home from the hospital. I, taken aback start catching him up on the saga. The whole time he is asking questions he is ringing up the rest of the painting supplies that I told him I was paying for. After I finished my story he informs me (with tears welling up) that it was on them. I can tell y'all that the most awesome thing to come of this is how one can be given a renewed since of goodness in this world. I hope all of you bring that lesson away from this too.

That's awesome. Y'all deserve it.

Man this brings tears to my eyes reading this. I love reading about acts of kindness. It's amazing how God works miracles and how he touches our fellow mans heart. God bless your family Lucas!

Good stuff! There are a lot of good folks left in this world. Sadly, it seems that they are the silent minority in these times. No one from the news stations wants to cover something like this.

As others have already said, you guys deserve it! Now, go splatter some paint!

Can't wait to see pictures of how it turns out and even more can't wait to see pictures of Wyatt in that nursery!

Y'all saying we deserve it is somewhat embarrassing. It took a while but when you are wrapped up in a situation this big it's easy to think it is just part of everyday normalcy. When people tell us we are special or tough it seems weird because as humans we learn to adapt and overcome. Thanks for reminding me that we have been through a lot, this puts it back in to perspective for me. That's one thing I never want to do is forget the magnitude of this and to stop treating Wyatt like the miracle he is for the rest of my life.

This might be a tough thing to do, Lucas, but, I'm sure glad it looks like you'll be getting the chance. You already know about my Christmas wish. Well, might not miss it too awful far. ;)
