Home improvement!!! Vinyl vs aluminium Windows.

I'm installing new windows and doors at the beginning of the year. Do any of you have experience with the vinyl windows vs aluminium windows pro and cons. Little info before I lay some bread down on this project.

Thanks.

I replaced all mine with vinyl a few years ago, got the double pane with low e. They were easy to install. You don't get the heat transfer from frame like you do with aluminum. I did my doors with insulated fiberglass doors.

I put vinyl in the lake house, very happy with them, they are very easy to work with and you get a gov rebate tax time if it's on your house that you reside at.

Thanks, and yes replacing the original windows. Brick house was built in 73. So its time!
And I have an old attic fan, I need to take out the attic. May have some air escaping from there also.

They make an insulated cover for those attic fans. Just disconnect elect. wiring or open breaker and cover. If you don't want to go thru taking it out.
Then if you ever need it, you can remove cover and use it.

I plan on cuting the bars that hold the fan up, with a hack saw. Remove the unit. From there I guess fill it with insaulation, then cover the top with square piece of plywood. What Did u do with the silver vent that's on the ceiling in side the house. I'd like to get ride of that too
