Armadillo Help?

I've got an armadillo that took out a corner cement pyramid on my porch. I saw him out last night, but he didn't come out enough to take care of him. Is there any bait I can use to draw him further from the house? Spam, cheese, anything? I'm sure I can wait him out but I've sat out before and he didn't show. Looking to save some time. Any thoughts?

Armadillo

Hell of an animal to trap. They are herbivores and eat insects and such also. So baiting with cheese, meat etc. won't work. They like to follow fence edges so maybe set a trap along a fence edge or if you find his hole he hides in you can set a trap in this area. Their eyesight is bad so some people have put boards or some ty of fencing material that leads them into your trap. Plan B, wake up at 3-4 am with a Q-beam and shotgun.

This is how Billy the exterminator does it, get a trap, get some cheap metal
flowerbed edging/fence that white stuff you just stick in the ground. Make a
short trail from his hole to trap fenced both sides. He'll follow that fence straight into the trap.

In years past, I made a "Vee" with wood, like framing for a concrete foundation, with the smallest end of the "V" at the trap.

30 feet long in both directions.

The armadillo bumps along the wood and into the trap.

Much like the garden edging mentioned above. But if you do not have the garden stuff, wood 2x6's, 2x4's will work also.

That girl I dated during this time sure could cook up some mean armadillo!!!

You will need:

Potted meat
Crackers
Beef Jerky
Chair
Beer
Spotlight
.22 rifle

1. Place chair outside in plain view of known armadillo whereabouts.
2. Place all other items withing reaching distance of chair
3. Consume beer, but open beers quietly as not to spook the dillo
4. Eat crackers, potted meat, and beef jerky while consuming beer
5. Turn on spotlight occasionally and scan area
6. If the beast appears, place beer on ground, hole spotlight with one hand and shoulder .22 with other.
7. When firing at the beast, you must remember the basics of marksmanship - sight picture, breath control, and trigger squeeze.
8. Align sights, control your breathing, squeeze the trigger on the exhale, and collect your beast:)
9. Resume beer drinking

Mix a little ammonia in a bucket of water. Pour it in the hole. He will run out!! Won't last long either. It burns their lungs.

You can also put a little de scale bathroom cleaner followed by bleach. Just don't stand too close
