Kern's Landing
 

Coming from Lake Charles, how do I get to Kern's Landing ? Its on my list of things to do before we get into freezing weather season...

Henderson exit, take a left at first light and head all the way to the levee. Take a left and you will see the sign for Kern's

It's just over the levee from the fishermans warf restaurant/theme park thing

Hi, I'm Jake Kern with Kern's Landing. Thanks for inquiring about my place. Just go into Henderson and when you get to the levee, stop and cross over the levee and your there. Right across the levee from from Pat's Fisherman's Wharf Restaurant.

I pass thru there all the time for work, is it North or South of I-10 ?

I looked on Google Earth, is it just south of that pit where the camps are stacked, on he south side of 10 ?

Also, is it safe running from there to Bigeaux (sp?) north to 10 ???

Kerns launch
 

Put the kayak in at Kerns early this morning and gave it a try. Water looked good and found some fish. Probably had 2 keepers all morning but good good bite from the 11"-13" fish. Caught on worms, senkos, 1/4 oz jigs and spinner baits. Never found a crankbait they would take.
