Uncle Stevie has been going down last few weeks and hammering big fish at the rocks in Fourchon on live croakers. Been going with a guide though. Heard they are still biting in the surf too.

Haven't heard any recent reports, but in the years past this time of year you gotta go early in the morning and/or late in the day. I'd hit the surf at Elmer's Island, the State Park or the rocks at the East end of the island. Topwaters, Sparkle beetles in charteuse, clear/chartruese, DOA's under a cork or your other favorite plastics should produce. Get some live shrimp if you can and that'll add to your catch. Croakers may be good too if you can keep em alive in this warm water. You'll probably also catch a butt load of white trout that can save a trip and fry up nicely that evening fo sho. Wish i was headin down that way. Hope this helps.......

I got a friend who is from the island and she said they were slamming the trout the last couple of weeks. Off the road and the beach

They were biting prior to this weekend. The wind was blowing too hard and killed the bite. I was down there this weekend and didn't talk to anyone catching many specks. I caught about 200 sand trout by myself saturday evening, but didn't keep them alittle too small for me.

The water was crystal clear saturday, I have never seen it that clear, thought I was in Destin, but the specks weren't there.

I have no idea. Didn't bother the white trout, they were thick. The water was really hot Friday and we caught a few fish, after the wind changed to North the water got clear and cool and the specks quit biting.

This must have been the problem. I've never seen water that clear on the coast of Louisiana before. It looked like florida.
