Beach by Boat 8-26

1 Attachment(s)
A buddy and I started out in the ship channel near pogy plant and nothing much happening. Headed to the Jetties and water was beaytiful but not much happening so off we go to the beach. Hit the rocks west of Holly Beach. By the time we got there boats were leaving with limits. Action was steady but because we were late getting there it was not fast. We picked up a few on plastic and live mullet. Then the wind layed down and it got slicker than glass. Started throwing a skitter walk and it was on. Even had 3 reds crush the plug. I did have an ongoing battle with something very large on a mullet. However he knew where the rocks were and on 6 different times he broke me off. I cried UNCLE!

I was throwing a brand new white skitterwalk yesterday in the surf. Was catching so many that every few fish I would have peel the big flakes of paint off of it so it would walk right. They demolished it. One trip and it is done.

Now Raymond, I made it clear that the Bimini is only on the boat when Momma is in the boat Yeak Spektator, they took most of my paint off too. Battle scats I suppose!

Ray 08-27-2011 06:03 PM

There were boats lined up at every set of rocks.
Lots of guides out there too.

Man, you guys got me wanting to make one more trip out to the surf before the hunting season starts. I almost cant take it.

Ray 08-28-2011 01:44 PM

Might have to wait another couple days for water to clear up.
Wasn't perty this morning.

Think there is a chance it could be decent in the morning?

Ray 08-28-2011 01:50 PM

If wind stays flat or out the North it might.
It was calm all night and NE this morning and still dirty.
