What would you guys do?

Last weekend did some investigating here around V.B. checking the water and such, and while is was running around i kinda ran up on a reef but i was going slow. Went under the boat yesterday to observe the damage and found something i was not pleased with. What i thought might have been oyster damage turns out to be Lag bolts that or sticking through my trailer boards about a 1/4" to much. (I WAS PISSED). will post pics later for ya'll to check out, and give me opinions on what i should do. Keep in mind the boat is 10 months old, and you would not believe the scratches.

I hate that for you... I check my boards everytime I launch or load. I guess it's just a habit. Not only do I look at them but I run my hand over them and shake them.

Xpress21 08-06-2011 06:57 PM

It's not at all the brackets just one. And where the boats sits on it, you can imagine the damage from bouncing on it many times on a 2 hr trip to big lake

I would assume based on your name you have an xpress. I have one to and I think the warranty on the trailer (backtrack) is one year. However, not sure what is part of the warranty.

oh, those are just little scratches you can live with that! J/K I'd be pissed!

BIGJ 08-07-2011 10:28 PM

Man that looks nasty. Somebody would be fixing that.

Ray 08-07-2011 10:54 PM

Dat's bad.
I hit an oyster reef at 35 mph and didn't do that much damage.
Just a few gel coat scratches.

Salty 08-07-2011 10:58 PM

If that was a Haynie.....the gelcoat would have smashed that bolt head.

flounder_smacker 08-07-2011 11:11 PM

thats poor design using lag bolts. should be countersunk on the top of the board with a bolt and nut on the other side. id tell them to fix it and do it right like it shoudl have been done.
