Yes, you are indeed. LDWF has a website. Has all the rules and regulations on it. Why anyone would take Joe Blow's word for it is just nuts. Just look it up for yourself and then you would know.

Cast netting

Each person is required to have valid basic
and saltwater licenses to cast net for shrimp. Cast nets must be less than 8.5 feet in radius. Recreational cast netting for shrimp is only permitted during the Louisiana inshore water shrimp season. See refuge specific regulations for additional information

Possession Limits

Daily fish limits are the same as Louisiana’s Sport Fishing
Limits. The daily crab limit is five dozen (60) per day per vehicle or boat. The daily shrimp limit during the Louisiana inshore shrimp season is five gallons of headson shrimp per day, per vehicle or boat. The daily
bait shrimp limit is one gallon per day per boat, outside the
Louisiana inshore shrimp season on Sabine.

Cast netting regulations

Refuges and WMA have different regulations than for cast netting in "Open" public water.

When in open public water..... here art the rules: http://www.wlf.louisiana.gov/sites/d...1_rec_fish.pdf

In part it says:

Cast Nets, Dip Nets, Bait Seines:
A recreational angler may use dip nets,
bait seines, and cast nets not to exceed
8.5 feet in radius, but shall not take at
anytime more than 50 pounds of
shrimp during closed season and 100
pounds of shrimp per day during the
open season, in the aggregate, per day
per boat or vehicle, regardless of the
number of persons thereon, provided
the shrimp taken are used for bait or
for the fisherman’s own consumption
and are not sold, traded or otherwise
permitted to enter into commerce.
Certain WMAs and state or federal
refuges may have different rules, consult
local LDWF office or

Enforcement Agent for specifics.

WMA and Refuge section).
