Electric Fans.
As many of you know, I have a Z71 with the 5.3. I'm thinking about taking off the fan clutch and fan and installing dual electric fans to free up some extra horses(?). Anyone see any pros or cons to this or did this to their truck?

Yeah, most kits come with one if not, I can buy one and tie it in. I'm thinking that it would take some of the load off of the engine and cooling it off either just as good if not better.

They do work, thought about doing the same on my truck. The direct fit kits are pretty expensive though.

Yeah they are, so I'll probably be looking for a wrecked Silverado or Sierra between 05-and classic 07s where the fans came opitional. Looking for one totaled in the rear end.

You're gonna pay near new prices for it. Salvage yards are off their friggin rockers these days when it comes to their used parts!:pissed:
Correction... Factory pieces, there's 7 total is $650. I can get a used one for ya for $280.

Thats true. I went look at a place on Highway 929 for a plug that runs to the A/C control in my 97 Chevy, 60$ for that one little plug and it looks like it should have been 20$. Of course they didn't tell me this when I asked, but I went and cut one out of a 98, and he then said 60$. I said nevermind no thanks, then he tried to say I had to take it. :pissed::pissed::pissed:
