UPdated after opening weekend:

7.5 leading here in West....

southern151 06-01-2011 08:41 AM

That's a good start! If I remember right, that's bigger than what won it last year.

inchspinner 06-01-2011 09:07 AM

Would a larger fish qualify for the star caught in the trout shootout.....just a thought?

LaAngler 06-01-2011 09:13 AM

yes, makes sense to join cca, shootout + star

i guess

are the STAR prizes any better this year?

SaltERedneck 06-01-2011 09:17 AM

Largemouth Bass – West
The winner will win a $1,500 Cabela's gift card.
1.
2.

3.

What areas qualify for this??? I mean is there any boundaries or could something like this be caught on lets say Toledo?

Soo pretty much Lacassine, Bell City DD, Streeters, Black Bayou and areas of that sort... hmmm sounds interesting.

evis102 06-01-2011 09:53 AM

Dink 06-01-2011 09:58 AM

Nothing for Mangrove, Cobia, or Dorado yet.........guess I'll sign up and chum away this weekend!!!!

Raymond 06-01-2011 09:58 AM

It is very possible that the winning fish at the Shootout could win the Star also.:grinpimp:

Already signed up! What flavor of chum do we need?...Or, do you have your own "brew"?

It happened before. Back when the first prize for the shootout was an 18 foot bay boat and 90hp. The weigh in was at burton coliseum. Old boy caught a 9 or 10 lber on a ghost. Started out fishing in Sabine lake. Trailered the boat and went and launched at da ferry and caught the fish in big lake. Won two boats with one fish. 18 footer and 21 footer. I believe he had a deal wit his buddy to split winnings but rumor has it that the deal fell through.

One of my friends nailed a 6.5lber last night in the kayak. Went to weigh in this morning

RAGINJROB 06-01-2011 11:57 AM

Thats a nice trout for kayak division. Last year 6.92 took the West Kayak Division.

YellowMouth7 06-01-2011 12:03 PM

I need a kayak

That is some BS. Most guys don't have a live well in there aluminum boat.

SaltERedneck 06-01-2011 02:09 PM

If i caught a bass around 7lb my butt would pick up and haul arse back to weigh it in. Dump all the beer outta the ice chest and fill it up with water. atleast this would keep the fish for a while.
