Big Lake 5-15

Comeaux and I hit the lake yesterday, and while we didn't set any records, we did manage to catch some fish. Found fish right off the bat in the lake, but it didn't last long as the armada showed up and the winds picked up making conditions tough. Headed north and found more fish, including flounder and a bunch of throw back trout.

Ended the day with 10 trout, and 3 flounder, including one right at 4lbs. and also lost a big bull red right at the boat.
All fish caught on LSU Jerk Jrs and poppin corks (sometimes you just gotta throw em ).

Bait is absolutely everywhere...

I try not to throw em [AS MUCH ;)] but yesterday that was the ticket. They wanted the bait about a foot under the surface and the cork was the best way to keep it there - at least for all of the fish we caught busting bait.

Come on, I qualified my statement... Always have one in my boat but there is definitely a time and a place for em and Sunday just happened to be one of em.

Gotta love that Cajun Thunder!

The Cajun thunder!!!!!

It was a blue bird day as me and mallardfish came out of the marsh from redfishing when we heard the clash of thunder! We shut the motor off and looked in the sky, there it was again and again...thunder crashing... Sound got louder and louder as we had our heads looking up....we noticed the sounds of thunder coming closer! We noticed birds flyings scared and fish moving in schools like the thunder was scaring them off!!! As wildlife and fish were all around running from the sounds.....there it was... Micah throwing the Thunder Cork!!
