weekend fishing

So i was wondering if any of you salt water pros could help a man with a little advice.today is my last day of school and its now summer. So ive got the salt water itch and it needs to be scratched.Im not a very experienced salt water angler ive only caught reds on shrimp and specks in the surf i have a 16 foot semi v or a 14 foot pirouge to choose and im leaning pirouge since i can afford a weekend of pirouge fishing over one day in the boat.I would like to catch some trout but a few reds would do me just fine.Im willing to drive pretty much anywere between grand isle to big lake was thinking of heading down towards highway 27 but im not familiar with the area i usually fish rockafeller, vermillion bay,or grand isle.It would be my first trip to the highway 27 area.I was wondering if anybody could give me some advice on were in the state of louisiana can a man catch him a cajun slay ride in the morning. All advise is much apreciated.

I'm not too familiar with the marsh there...but if you can catch a little moving water and gulp swim baits or shrimp you should pick something up...

Maybe some of the yak guys can point you in the right direction
