Poker withdrawals!
Our big bad government decided it was a good idea to shut down internet poker! Millions of Americans(especially me) really enjoyed sites such as Full Tilt and Pokerstars. Even worse I cant pull out the money I have on the site account. I know I am whining but it sucks! :pissed::pissed:

Friday, or as it is now being called Black Friday.

That is bs. It's your money. You should be able to do with it what you want. I dont gamble but if I wanted to I should be allowed. More gov bs.

Probably has nothing to do with the gambling aspect of it, but there was a hoard of money in peoples accounts on those sites. Can you say CONFISCATION?????????????

govt needed to help fund itself and said "WOW WE HAVE SO MANY PEOPLE TO INTERNET GAMBLE. LETS OUTLAW IT AND KEEP THEIR MONEY!"
I was talking to jason about this the other day.. the working man uses OIL, TOBACCO, AND COFFEE to get his day started. They already tax oil and tobacco out the ***. My bet is coffee will get increased next. |
The reason they probably shut it down was because the govt wasnt taxing it and you know they want their share. a lot of those companies (not all) were not from the USA so they did not fall under the tax law... I guess the govt said "If we can't tax em, lets shut them down here."

All those poker sites were overseas. I dont understand how they got a hold of them in the first place. Sucks that some of you guys lost money. I gave up internet poker a few years ago. Bunch of BS. I got a friend that prob lost $10-15k on internet poker. U think u got the nuts and someone has 4 of a kind. Lots of hands on there would never happen in a live game.
One time I got a flyer in the mail from one of these sites telling me they would give me a free $50 to sign up with their site and play. This was after i had given it up for a while, but decided if they were giving me a free $50 I would give it a try. In about 2-3 hours I had it up to $1300!! And of course I was stupid and kept playing and got burned for half of it in one hand!! Ended up cashing out $650 off a free $50 and have never played online since. |
Really pizzes me off, I actually claim winnings on my taxes, its not like I play for very much cash, I just really enjoyed playing.

Im not too happy about this myself....have about 4k tied up and can't withdraw on PS or Tilt.. Figured this was gonna happen someday....just thought the poker community woulda saw it coming. Online poker isn't illegal in no means...but the government put restrictions on the banks for funding online gambling. What they are being charged with is bank fraud/money laundering due to finding ways to charge the banks with faux company alias for the deposit through checking accounts. (instant e checks) DOJ has known this has been going on and has been collecting info on this to bring the system down. My complaint is these jackazz 's for the DOJ coulda just regualted online poker years ago when they set the restrictions but they have to be a bully! So now they're screwing everyone who has money on these sites (100 mill+ in the US alone).....and taking down some great sites b/c they had to be *****s and not handle it right the first time around. I've met some great guys from playing online poker from all over the world. It's sad that this has happened. I hope this gets taken care of ASAP and the PPA (poker players alliance) comes on super strong right away!
