Prien Lake 4-12

2 Attachment(s)
Got off work at 6 and met father-in-law at the launch. Popped a few tops and watched the sun go down on Prien. It was my first chance to fish since I moved back to Louisiana. The wind finally laid down, and it was an awesome night to be on the water. It wasn't fast and furious, but it was sweet. It's great to be back home.

Took the family out to a friend's pond and spent the afternoon slinging catfish and perch. My 9-year-old caught his first bass. He was pumped.

Nice job, your son looks very happy, I am sure you were excited as well.

Ain't it great to see the kids catch fish. I go crazy everytime my daughter catches one.
Looked like a good couple days.

Nice job bro. Thanks for the report.

The bait is thick in Prien right now. When the sun went down, we were fishing in 2ft deep water, and the reds just started slamming the bait all over the place. It was very frustrating, though, b/c we could not get them to bite on anything. I thought about picking up the cast net and chunking it.

And yes, I love watching my boys fight to land a fish. Nothing like a 6-year-old fighting a red!

What kind of bait did you caught them with?

drjay 04-14-2011 11:51 AM

Glow Cocahoe chartreuse tail.

Lots of glass minnows around prien right now. Use small bait that mimics them.

Thanks for the tip. I'll give it a shot.
